The Independent Autism Reviewer welcomes correspondence from autistic people, families, carers, professionals, and members of the public.  While the Reviewer cannot resolve personal cases, correspondence helps identify systemic issues and informs independent reports and advice to the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Hearing about people’s experiences is important. It highlights patterns, gaps, and issues - this learning helps shape the Reviewer’s priorities so that her work reflects the realities of autistic people, families, and carers across Northern Ireland.

All correspondence is read and considered. While individual replies may not always be possible, every effort is made to provide a timely response where appropriate.

The Reviewer’s role does not include handling individual complaints, giving medical or social care advice, or resolving personal cases. These matters should be raised directly with the relevant organisation through its complaints process. If you remain dissatisfied after completing that process, you can contact the Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO), who has the authority to investigate unresolved complaints about public bodies. More information is available athttps://www.nipso.org.uk

The Office may be able to signpost you to relevant organisations or services where appropriate, and any issues raised may be used to support scrutiny of wider systems and highlight systemic concerns with government and public bodies.

Your experiences matter. They help ensure that the Reviewer’s work reflects the realities of autistic people, families, and carers across Northern Ireland.
