The Independent Autism Reviewer for Northern Ireland (the Reviewer) is Ema Cubitt.

The Reviewer is a Ministerial public appointment and is independent of all Northern Ireland government Departments.

The Reviewer will review the adequacy and effectiveness of care and services provided to autistic people, their families and carers across the whole of Northern Ireland, as well as monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of the Autism Strategy alongside law, practice and funding relating to autism.

The Reviewer will adopt a rights and evidence-based approach with the aim of progressing towards an overarching vision:

A Northern Ireland where autistic people of all ages know they belong, feel valued, and are supported to be their whole authentic selves.
